Please continue to be Scam Savvy

We have been contacted by Trading Standards today to highlight several different scams that are circulating at the moment.

We ask that you please pass this information on.

Firstly, we are receiving reports of TEXT messages being received offering money from the GOVT during the Covid-19 crisis.

And again, the scam we recently advised people about is still affecting our communities.

Please be aware fraudsters are going door to door claiming to be NHS staff conducting coronavirus tests or welfare visits.

NHS staff are not going door to door.

Call the police if someone knocks on your door claiming to be conducting coronavirus tests. Do NOT open the door or let them in to your house.

Watch out for scam messages: Don’t click on the links or attachments in suspicious emails, and never respond to unsolicited messages and calls that ask for your personal or financial details.

Protect others by reporting incidents like this.

If you, or anyone you know, have been affected by this fraud or any other scam, report it to Action Fraud by calling 0300 123 2040 or visiting www.actionfraud.police.uk
